Words Go Round 2018 - TRAVEL WRITING AND THE GRAPHIC NOVEL with Guy Delisle

Hailed as "one of the greatest cartoonists of our age" by The Guardian, Canadian animator and cartoonist Guy Delisle is best known for his award-winning graphic travelogues. In this session, Delisle will speak with writer-editor Lim Cheng Tju about his process of documenting countries and cities including Pyongyang, Jerusalem and Myanmar.

This session is organised by Words Go Round, an outreach programme of the Singapore Writers Festival, in conjunction with the month of Francophonie.

Venue: Alliance Française, la galerie

Opening ceremony: 6.30pm - 7.30pm

A renowned comic artist from Canada, Guy Delisle has been able to create over the years a unique style of his own through an autobiographical personage with an observant and spontaneous look. A master of serious lightheartedness, his work represents little snapshots of everyday life that speaks volumes about humanity. From the “Aventures de Louis” to the “Chroniques de Jérusalem”, Alliance Française de Singapour and Editions Delcourt invites you to discover or rediscover the works of this master of journalistic comics.

Please select the option to attend both the Talk and the Opening Ceremony if you are interested in attending both events.
